Click on the tool below to go to the Centers for Disease Control's H1N1 Flu Information site. Saint Margaret Mercy places a priority on protecting our patients, employees and visitors from the spread of the seasonal and H1N1 flu viruses, and other illnesses. These effective visitor safeguards are designed to prevent the spread of disease within the hospital.
- People with flu-like symptoms are asked not to come to the hospital to visit. Possible symptoms of flu include runny nose, cough or a fever of more than 100 degrees.
- Antibacterial hand sanitizers are available at our entrances. Please sanitize your hands before entering our facility and wash your hands often, especially before entering a patient's room and after leaving. Antibacterial hand sanitizer units are available throughout the hospitals for this precaution.
- Visitors under 14 years of age are not permitted without express permission of nursing management.
- Only two visitors at a time may visit a patient.
- Regular visiting hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. will be enforced. (Certain exceptions may apply.)
- Reading materials have been removed from waiting areas.
Protection and prevention are our priorities. Thank you for your cooperation with these efforts to minimize the local impact of the flu outbreak. Please see the following additional information to help protect yourself and your family during this flu season.
