Adult Chemical Dependency Services
|
Breaking free of chemical dependency requires both commitment and support, and sometimes it requires professional intervention. Saint Margaret Mercy’s Chemical Dependency Programs provide the strong support system and comprehensive treatment needed by individuals who have become harmfully involved or dependent on alcohol or drugs to achieve and maintain sobriety. We do this through our full continuum of care – Inpatient Detoxification, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs and Extended Outpatient Program.
Inpatient Services Saint Margaret Mercy’s inpatient program provides comprehensive, structured treatment for individuals who are suffering from an addictive illness and require medical detoxification. Treatment is provided by a multidisciplinary team of caring professionals led by an addictionologist or psychiatrist. Under their direction, the team strives to observe, assess, stabilize, and transition patients into a less restrictive level of care. Family members are encouraged to be active members in a person’s continuing treatment as the program stresses the importance of support for ongoing long–term recovery.
Partial Hospitalization Our Partial Hospitalization Program offers outpatient convenience for individuals who still require structure, monitoring and treatment but do not require inpatient detoxification services. Patients attend the program Monday through Friday, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. While in this program, patients are under the direct care of a psychiatrist or addictionologist and they participate in group and individual therapy throughout the day. In the evenings, patients return to their homes where they can practice what they have learned.
Intensive Outpatient Program Our intensive outpatient program is designed for those individuals whose substance abuse is less acute and whose pattern of abuse is sufficiently controlled to require a less intensive pattern of care. The program meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Since one of the goals of intensive outpatient is to keep the patient involved in the community and on their jobs, the program is also offered Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Extended Outpatient Program Our extended outpatient program is designed to be an aftercare program for ongoing support and guidance through the early stages of recovery. It is a 90-minute session that meets once per week during the first half of the evening in the CD IOP program or during one of the morning sessions of the CD IOP program. |
