Please arrive for your Sleep Study at 8:30 p.m.
If your Sleep Study is scheduled at the Hammond Campus, 5454 Hohman Ave., arrive through the ER entrance and let them know you have an appointment in the Sleep Lab. If your study is scheduled in Dyer, 24 Joliet St. (US Route 30), please go directly to the Sleep Disorders Center. The Sleep Disorders Center is located in the front of the hospital on the west side of the property. Enter the west entrance that is marked Behavioral Health, Frances Ward Auditorium, Reginald Board Room (it may also say patient discharge). Take the “A” elevators to the second floor. The Sleep Disorders Center to your left when you exit the elevators.
Preparation
1. Please bring your prescription for the test with you on the day of your appointment.
2. NO SPOUSES.
3. You may bring a favorite pillow, blanket or whatever helps you sleep. Bring whatever you normally sleep in, however some type of clothing is required.
4. Your hair MUST be dry before arriving at the Hospital. DO NOT use any cream rinses, conditioners, hair spray or styling aids. Please remove any hairpieces, weaves, or extensions which obstruct the scalp. These will interfere with the application of the electrodes to the scalp.
5. NO oil or makeup on your face. NO dark nail polish. NO ARTIFICIAL NAILS.
6. No consumption of alcohol the day of the test.
7. If you take any medications prior to bedtime, please bring them with you.
8. Men are to be clean shaven.
9. If you are currently on a CPAP machine, you do not need to bring it with you. However, please feel free to bring your mask.
10. The call to schedule the test does not admit and register you. Someone from Admitting should call you within a few days prior to your appointment. If you do not receive a call, please call 219-932-2300, Ext. 32439, (Pre Registration). If you do not pre-register, do so in ER Admitting prior to going up to the Sleep Lab.
